What flavours come up immediately in your memory from your childhood? Fruits, vegetables, maybe fresh-baked bread from the oven? Let’s duplicate it and make a memory in the glass.
I am from Ukraine, my home city is Kyiv, which is the greenest capital in Europe. Kyiv becomes especially beautiful in June when the chestnuts are in blossom and nature is green and bright. June (cherven’) in Ukrainian means red. Since my early childhood summer always reminds me of fruits and berries harvest. Above all, after many years that specific attractive, fragrant aromas from my grandmother’s garden will always stick in my memory.
I tried to duplicate those unforgettable flavours in the glass. I infused Auchentoshan 12 year with sour cherries. And, I wanted to make it special. Moreover, not just serve it on ice, it should be something individual,

As a result, I came up with the idea to make an ice sphere with my infusion inside. As you can see from the picture my cocktail consists of two parts that give you the choice of how actually to drink the cocktail. Inside the ice-sphere is infused scotch with bitter. Outside the ice is surrounded by pure Auchentoshan.
It’s like hiding your memory from the surrounding.
So, all of us might need to make choices in our life, to break the ice and release it or keep hiding just for ourselves and wait until it melted. Likewise, I am offering to make your own choice either to enjoy amazing Auchentoshan 12-year-old Scotch Whiskey and wait until an ice-sphere will melt or to break the ice-sphere and make your own cocktail with your memory in the glass.

Makes 1 cocktail
2 oz Auchentoshan 12 year Scotch
½ oz Auchentoshan 12 year infused with sour cherry
¼ oz Sour Cherry Syrup
3 drops of Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters
Orange twist and Scotch soaked 2 cherries.
In a stirring glass place infused scotch, syrup and a bitter, stir it. Make an ice sphere, 5 hours, with a needle soaked out the water, place in infused Auchentoshan, syrup and bitter. Place ice sphere into the chilled rock glass. Pour Auchentoshan 12 year over the sphere. Garnish. Serve with Love.
