Top it off with a rosemary spring, and every sip is a delight. Make the pitcher variation if youโ€™re serving a crowd!

Today is another cocktail related to our weekly topicโœ…. This drink is made by stirring, and of course using #barspoon .

The Rob Roy is a cocktail๐Ÿธ made of #whisky and #vermouth , created in 1894 by a #bartender at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York City. The drink was named in honor of the premiere of an operetta ย Rob Roy๐Ÿ”ฅ.

It is basically well-known #manhattan๐Ÿฅƒ made using #scotch instead of Bourbon/Rye.

Like the Manhattan, the Rob Roy can be made "sweet", "dry", or "perfect". The standard Rob Roy is the sweet version, made with sweet vermouth, so there is no need to specify a "sweet" Rob Roy when ordering. A "dry" Rob Roy is made by replacing the sweet vermouth with dry vermouth. A "perfect" Rob Roy is made with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth

The Rob Roy includes a dash of #angostura bitters and is usually served in a #cocktails glass garnished with two maraschino cherries on a skewer (for the standard version), or a lemon twist (for the perfect and dry versions).

Here is the recipe for PERFECT ROB ROY:

ยท โญ60 ml/ 2 oz @famousgrouse Scotch Whisky

ยท โญ15 ml/ ยฝ oz @martini Extra Dry Vermouth

ยทย โญ15 ml/ ยฝ oz @cynarusa
ยทย โญ 3 dashes @angosturahouse

STIR/COCKTAIL GLASS/DBL STRAIN/GARNISH

Today we have three basic styles.

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ โ€œ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ปโ€ ๐—ข๐—ฟ ๐—˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป , as we know it nowadays, is the most common of all bar spoons, although the original name remains deep in history.
European Bar Spoons work well for cracking ice and have a great balance thanks to their flat nozzle. The spoon itself allows you to measure out liquids and apply ice. Functional, simple and, importantly, very durable.
โญ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป with the width makes it easy to measure liquids. But at the same time, it has several disadvantages: a strange design, limiting its use only for mixing and measuring. The weight differs from the manufacturer, but they are generally light, which can make some bartenders feel uncomfortable.
โญ
๐—๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ are generally longer and smoother, which makes mixing very easy for any type of hand: large, small, experienced, and not so much. A fully twisted handle allows for the better pouring of layers into cocktails. With a Japanese bar spoon, you will feel confident, balanced and just plain cool.
