Gewürztraminer The Aromatic White Wine You Need Gewürztraminer

The Aromatic White Wine You Need to Try ✨🍷

🌍 Origin: Alsace, France (but also found in Germany, Italy, and the U.S.)
🍇 Grape Variety: Gewürztraminer
👃 Aromas: Lychee, rose petals, honey, tropical fruits, and warm spices
🍽 Best Pairings: Spicy dishes (Thai, Indian), soft cheeses, or even foie gras

💡 Why You Should Try It
This bold, fragrant white wine is perfect for those who love off-dry, floral, and exotic flavors. Unlike crisp Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer is full-bodied, slightly oily, and low in acidity, making it a unique choice for wine lovers.

🍸 Bartender’s Tip: Use Gewürztraminer in a white wine spritz, a fruity sangria, or even a floral cocktail to enhance its exotic notes!

𝙁𝙀𝙀𝙇: Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth and slightly creamy.

𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖 (Ka-ber-nay Fronk)

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 : Bordeaux, California, Australia, South Africa.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 : Cab Franc is a parent grape of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carménère and gives them a hint of mint or green bell pepper. It can be lighter or bolder depending on where it’s grown, but it is always tasty. Cabernet Franc has proven to be very robust and produce good quality wines in a range of climates. This is a clue to its diversity of tastes. From tart red fruit flavors in cooler climates such to more dried fruit flavors and fuller bodied wines in warmer areas such as Tuscany and California. You’ll also find a mixture of savory, tart, and herbal flavors in moderate climates, such as Bordeaux.
𝗔𝙗𝙫 : 13.5-15.

𝗛𝗢𝗘𝗚𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡 𝙁𝙍 𝗛𝗢𝗘𝗚𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡

𝙁𝙍𝙊𝙈: Brouwerij van Hoegaarden, Belgium
𝙎𝙏𝙔𝙇𝙀: Witbier
𝘼𝘽𝙑: 4,9 %
𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Pours out a clear straw color that becomes moderately hazy when the yeast is added. Remains translucent. Capped with a rocky head of snow-white foam.

𝙎𝙈𝙀𝙇𝙇: Very bright, but also quite sweet. The orange aroma is right up front and almost a bit tart, followed by some sweet malts and coriander.

𝙏𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙀: The flavor is much maltier than the aroma, with a touch of the coriander and some bitterness coming through in the finish. Still quite bright up front, but not nearly as much orange comes through in the flavor compared to the aroma. There is also an herbal and floral flavor, likely from hops. The sweetness becomes a bit much after a while.

𝙁𝙀𝙀𝙇: The feel is at first quite refreshing, but the wheat seems to make this beer a bit heavier, both in the stomach and on the palate. The finish is quite long, and combined with the warm and almost cozy feeling from the spices, makes this beer more of an armchair/nap time beer than I ever would have expected
Overall: if you like Witbiers try this out. AB-InBev didn't fully ruin this one, but I've read that they did change the recipe. Good tasting, decent aroma, but a bit heavier than expected, and not in ABV. I will say the history of this beer is quite interesting. One of my favorite WitBiers, specially with slice of orange in it. Great beer for brunch! 87/100.
